Dr. Arun Raaza, CEO/CARS along with SBIOA Model school students invented ATM Autocontroller device and under the guidance of General Secretary installed the same in 3 SBI LHO ATMs.

CARS was the brain child of our beloved Dr. Thomas Franco Rajendra Dev, General Secretary and Correspondent, SBIOA Educational Trust. It was inaugurated on August 21, 2015. Sole purpose of CARS is to cultivate research knowledge and educate our students on Patents, Transfer of Technology, Govt. funded projects, Publications and innovations. Since then core team of CARS visited SBOA JC, SBOA Model and SBOA Coimbatore and provided students real time demo on innovations, gave them practical hands on training on soldering, wiring, programming and other STEM related activities. Students with the help of experts developed robots, semi automatic devices and mobile controlled automations. Dr. Arun Raaza, CEO/CARS along with SBIOA Model school students invented ATM Autocontroller device and under the guidance of General Secretary installed the same in 3 SBI LHO ATMs. The device conserved 5-8 units per day and around INR 3000-6000 rupees was saved. If installed across all 57000 SBI ATMs, 20 crore units can be saved for Govt. of India and 200 crore rupees can be saved for State Bank of India. Apart from this huge energy conservation the device also helps in reducing global warming as it prevents the production of highly harmful green house gases from AC’s which depletes the ozone layer.

Major Achievements of CARS

  1. SBOA filed its first patent “Automatic Control System for Power Conservation and Multi Usage”, application number : 201641012256
  2. 250 devices on above patent is already commercialized and installed successfully in 250 State Bank of India ATMs across Chennai and Vellore.
  3. Two students presented “Autonomous Combat Vehicle” and won first prize in “Science for the future and AMET Science Innovation Award 2016”. They were awarded Rs. 50,000/- cash prize and funded visit to ISRO Bangalore.

By the middle of 2016 NITI Aayog, Govt. of India also implied the importance of hands on training and practical education. They sought applications from schools for establishing “ATAL Tinkering Labs” to train and educate students on research and practical education. GS took initiative and directed Dr. Arun Raaza to apply for the same. Out of 13005 schools applied 257 schools got approval for establishing “ATAL Tinkering Labs” out of which SBOA JC was also one.
